StelterPartners Receives Michigan Commission for the Blind
Annual Employers Award

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan (January 7, 2008) – StelterPartners was one of the recipients of the annual Employers Award from the Michigan Commission for the Blind (MCB) at the December 10, 2007 awards ceremony in Lansing, Michigan.

MCB’s mission is “to provide opportunities to individuals who are blind or visually impaired to achieve employability and/or function independently in society”. The Michigan Commission for the Blind works for employers to match individuals to a specific job. The awards ceremony was held in the Kellogg Center at Michigan State University. President Jim Stelter and Customer Service Advocate Jackie Boomstra accepted the award on behalf of StelterPartners.

StelterPartners is a furniture manufacturer that mainly focuses on educational furniture, high-density mobile storage, and office furniture. Over the past three years, StelterPartners has hired three MCB clients in accounting, reception and shipping and handling. “Jim’s no-nonsense and approachable attitude was one of the key factors in winning this award.” noted Michelle Visscher, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor/Teacher for MCB. StelterPartners continuously works with MCB to provide employment opportunities to qualified clients and constantly strives to provide a welcoming and friendly environment. This includes special technology which enables people with visual impairments to perform their job at a competitive level.
